THE CONTEXT

Hunter Park considered the regeneration of the existing 63ha Broadmeadow Sports Precinct in Greater Newcastle currently owned and managed by Venues NSW and the Department of Industry (Crown Land).

Urban Apostles’ extensive knowledge in urban regeneration projects from around the world was critical in helping us create a strong vision for a proposed urban regeneration precinct in Greater Newcastle. Jason’s highly collaborative and inspiration style made him a valuable member of the team and a joy to work with. I can’t wait to work with Urban Apostles again soon!

THE WORK

Urban Apostles served in an advisory capacity to Hunter and Central Coast Development Corporation and Venues New South Wales in support of the overall urban regeneration strategy for housing, retail, commercial and placemaking. The proposal considered the regeneration of the existing stadium, event centre and showground assets into a mixed-use precinct integrated with hotel, retail, commercial office, event space and 3000+ residential apartments to realise a new 365-day-a-year destination within the Hunter region.
